• This very large painting is a triptych of three canvases, aligned to form one complete painting, making handling and shipping easy.  This work stems from Silvia's interest in the relationships between shapes, volumes, colours and textures and their resulting presence. Inspiration may come from found objects and remnants of objects that carry stories, or from fissures or folds in materials. She tends to create in series, often in response to her current environment, like a visual diary of circumstances. The large canvases come from an earlier period in her career in Valencia, Spain and are now available for sale in London.

This large canvas is from her current series of paintings that concern themselves with the transformation of surface layers in response to chemical changes.  The underlying brightness of the copper is revealed around the edges and down the centreline of the painting, but also appears in patches, through thin areas of the surface.  The canvas can be deconstructed into two parts for shipping.

  • ‘Neons from Heaven’ is a poetic, sculptural installation that is hung from the rooftop or ceiling and provides a dramatic statement in a large space. The installation was commissioned and constructed in 2019 for the Sculpt and Art Trail in North Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and was on public display at St Mary’s Church in Masham in North Yorkshire from May until September 2019. It is now available for sale. The work consists of 100 large hanging canvas tubes or 'neons' and is an artistic interpretation that represents a moment of human encounter when the guidance, that we often seek externally, is found reflected within ourselves. The blue tubes or neons represent the horizon when the sea and the sky meet and each tube has a raw edge of canvas running down its length. From below, the viewer looks up to see themselves reflected back by mirrors in the base of the tubes. All the tubes are ready to hang with metallic eyelets on the top of each tube. Each one is hung by transparent nylon thread that can be attached to hooks on the rooftop or ceiling. There are 100 painted canvas tubes of varying diameters that range from 5.5 cm to 10 cm (2 - 4 inches) and varying heights from 50 cm to 200 cm (20 - 80 inches). The tubes are hung one by one, approximately 10 cm (4 inches) apart and each tube weighs approximately 2 kg.
  • Silvia tends to create in series, often in response to her current environment, like a visual diary of circumstances.  This artwork is part of the series 'Copper Skin', which again is a semi-autobiographical series.  Silvia's investigation into the  oxidation process of copper has captured her imagination, suggesting to her the poetic and metaphoric revival of the Phoenix.  The unique green epidermis that envelopes the metal suggests transformative and protective beauty.  This painting is framed.
