Description
The natural and nostalgic are combined in Ann-Helen’s paintings. Living on a small island in the Baltic (one of the hundreds of islands in the Stockholm archipelago) for a large part of the year, she distills images from countless observations and memories, and combines them with memories of Swedish fairy stories from her childhood. She often uses printmaking techniques in combination with painting and this is one of a series of unique works that start with an etched ground but is uniquely hand-painted, collaged and inked.
